Every new medium I explore has challenged me to interpret the world in a different “language,” but my artistic vision and voice remain the same. I am inspired by the cycles of nature, light and shadows, and the multitude of shapes, patterns and colors of land forms, rocks, plants and living creatures.
My professional career was as a children’s book illustrator working in watercolor. When I joined CCP I had little experience in printmaking. I loved the graphic quality of linoleum and woodblock prints — and with the support, encouragement and knowledge shared by the members — I was motivated to learn the skills needed to make good prints.
I have been a Resident Artist/Printmaker at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles, CA since 2010, where I demonstrate my printmaking processes, explain to visitors the various ways printmaking is done, and sell my prints and paintings.
