Meetings

January (general meeting)

Our first meeting of 2025 was held at Joyce’s on January 12 at 1:00 PM.

February (in-between workshop)

Our first in-between workshop of 2025 was cancelled.

March (general meeting)

March 9 at 1:00 PM at Tricia’s Studio.
Topics will include: Evy – budget; MB Show; Tricia’s framing workshop in April.
Everyone is invited to bring artwork to show. Please bring your latest projects!

We are starting a new series of retrospective studio/not studio visits: since some artists do not have studio space to show their art, therefore we invite CCP members to bring their art to show at group meetings. Tricia will offer the first retrospective on March 9, going back to her beginning printmaking work and continuing with her growth as an artist to the present day. She will show 10 to 15 works of her art and share insights about what she has learned along her art journey. If you would like to offer a studio visit, please bring possible dates.

April (in-between workshop)

April 13 (time to be announced) at Joyce’s Studio. We will explore watercolor printmaking using plexi plates.

May (general meeting)

May 11 at 1:00 PM (location TBD)
Topics will include: Discuss “collaboration in art” between CCP members. Along with a short meeting, Dave shared his work. Cheryl brought her latest projects to share.

June (in-between workshop)

June 8, time TBD. This in-between workshop is open for a volunteer to host.

July (general meeting)

July 13, 1:00 to 3:30 PM at Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main Street

Lynn will lead this meeting. We will have a short business meeting, then Lynn and Cheryl will share retrospectives of their work, and others can share what they are creating. Anyone interested in printmaking is welcome and encouraged to attend. Printmaking is full of fascinating and diverse art processes. Come see lots of examples and meet the artists.

Our group print exhibit, “Pressing Forward” will be showing in the ACMB Main Gallery as well!

August (in-between workshop)

August 10 (RSVP before August 8). Joyce is offering a workshop on “Layered Monoprinting with Chine collé.” We’ll start early (at 10:00 am) due to the heat. Joyce kindly will supply plastic plates for use, papers (including some interesting ones!) and inks.

Bring: glue stick, 2- or 4-inch brayer, image(s) on paper for Chine collé – could be prints, drawings, images torn from books, etc. and $5 for Joyce to cover inks.

September (general meeting)

September 14. Barbara and Rosey have offered to host at 1:00 pm, 743 Santa Lucia Ave, Los Osos. Cheryl, Joyce, Susan and Maryanne will share prints and info from their recent Albuquerque workshop.

We’re still brainstorming for an upcoming collaborative project. Our recent discussion included suggestions for a specific-themed Tarot deck, an exquisite corpse flip book, a Book of Firsts and prayer flags—with the idea the flags could fly across the ceiling during the Studios on the Park show in May – June of 2026. (See the minutes from the May and July 2025 general meetings.) Think about it and bring your ideas to the September meeting (or email to Cheryl so she can compile a list).
