Elizabeth J. Kilimnik

I am one of 10 children and there was never a dull moment!! I was encouraged to draw, color and paint. I would create my own versions of fables, nursery rhymes and family stories! Born in 1950, I grew up in Pasadena, California.

In College, I immersed myself in weaving, photography, sculpture, jewelry and ceramics. I graduated from Pasadena City College in 1970. I then went on to Cal State University at Long Beach and received my BA in Art.

My husband and I relocated to Bremerton, Washington and later back to California. We have lived on the Central Coast ever since. In my years of raising our 6 kids, I created my art in anyway that I could! Gently used clothing became canvases that I dyed and painted, making colorful clothing. As the kids started to move on to college, I began further exploration into studio art. While at Cuesta College, I took advantage of courses in printmaking and ceramics as well as digital art and painting. Shortly after, I purchased my Griffin Etching press!

We have taken trips to Italy, Southeast Asia, Bali, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Paris. These trips were very inspirational and the museums amazing!

Many of my prints are unique, variable editions. I am drawn to nature and to creating prints with a twist, a bit of humor and a bit of mystery. My orchids dance the calypso! My crow sings a duet with the moon. My frogs dance in the sky. Enjoy!!
