Artist Statement
The print work looks at how I can take a narrative and relay it through the use of a tactile texture and color. Using visual or storytelling components, I try to incorporate a nod to nature. It might be a thread or drawn and one of several avenues of exploration of the line.
Biography
My primary focus is education. I run a teaching fiber studio in Avila Beach, California, along with teaching drawing in the public school system. The printmaking is a personal approach and response to the color and fiber I work with. The two mediums complement each other. The fiber work is three dimensional and the prints I create are often ideas made flat. My work carries thoughts of a personal nature while still trying to be universal in viewing.
Education
Graphic Communication, Design Reproduction (BS), Certification in colorants and color matching. Master of Fine Art, Fiber.
